Plans and Billing

BI Pixie pricing is flat and simple: three plans, each priced by tracked items. Pick the plan that fits your estate, choose monthly or annual billing, and subscribe. One number is the whole price. There are no usage meters, no per-user fees, and no overage charges.

Accessing the Plans Page

The Plans page is available to account administrators only. Open Account in the BI Pixie Portal sidebar, then the Plan tab, or click View Plan Details from the Account Settings page.

Available Plans

BI Pixie offers three plans: Standard, Pro, and Enterprise. Every plan includes AI Readiness scoring for your semantic models. For the full feature comparison and frequently asked pricing questions, see the pricing page.

Standard

$149/mo, or $1,490/yr billed annually.

Starting Free

The Standard plan also has a free state, shown as the Free plan on the pricing page and available on every surface. It includes a first AI Readiness score for each of up to 500 semantic models and data agents, one tracked report and one tracked semantic model or data agent, one benchmark run in total on your tracked semantic model, community docs and MCP access, and the BI Pixie dashboard within a fair-use allowance of 5,000 monthly sessions. Scoring runs at up to 10 assessments a day. Your one tracked semantic model or data agent is the one you can reassess and optimize afterwards. The two tracking allowances are separate, so you can measure one report and prepare one semantic model or data agent for AI at the same time. What Counts as a Tracked Item

Tracked items are the one quantity your plan is priced on. A tracked item is a report with Pixies, or a semantic model or data agent you are preparing for AI:

• Reports. Adding Pixies to a report counts it as one tracked item.
• Semantic models. The first AI Readiness score of a semantic model is free and claims no item, for up to 500 distinct items per account, counting semantic models and data agents together. A semantic model becomes tracked when you assess it a second time, optimize it, or run a benchmark against it.
• Data agents. A Fabric data agent walks the same ladder. Its first AI Readiness score is free and claims no item, drawing on the same 500. A data agent becomes tracked on its second assessment, or on the first change you apply to it, whatever semantic models it is grounded on. Using a data agent in a benchmark or an A/B test never claims an item.
• Counted separately. A report and its semantic model are separate items. Adding Pixies to a report counts the report; AI Readiness work on the semantic model behind it claims the semantic model as its own item. If 100 reports connect to one shared semantic model, you count the reports you add Pixies to, plus the shared semantic model once if you assess it a second time, optimize it, or benchmark it.
• Once tracked, unlimited. Reassessing and optimizing a tracked item never costs another item.
• Deleting does not reduce the count. Deleting an item stops tracking it and removes its data, but your tracked items count does not go down. A higher plan includes more tracked items.

The Standard plan includes 10 tracked items, the Pro plan includes 50, and the Enterprise plan includes 500. Unlimited tracked items are available as part of an Enterprise quote. On each of those plans the count is pooled, so a report, a semantic model, and a data agent each use one of the plan's items. The Free plan includes two named allowances instead: one tracked report, and one tracked semantic model or data agent.

Benchmark runs by plan

• On every plan, you can build a benchmark end to end and inspect the correct answers that BI Pixie computes. Only the number of benchmark runs differs by plan.
• On the Free plan, the one benchmark run is on your one tracked semantic model. Before you spend it, select See a sample result to see what a scored benchmark looks like.
• The Free and Standard plans offer the Quick check and Standard question counts. The Pro and Enterprise plans offer every question count, including Thorough and Custom.
• Generating questions never uses a benchmark run. A benchmark run counts the same whichever AI answers, and deleting a benchmark run doesn't give it back.

Fair Use for Sessions

Every plan includes a monthly session allowance across your tracked reports: 5,000 on the free state, 50,000 on the Standard plan, 75,000 on the Pro plan, and 250,000 on the Enterprise plan. A session = one person using one report on one day. Exceeding this allowance only slows dashboard refresh until usage drops back below it. It never results in additional charges.

One person opening the same report five times in a day counts as one session; one person using three reports counts as three. Fair use applies wherever BI Pixie stores your telemetry, in BI Pixie Cloud and in the Fabric Workload alike. With data residency your telemetry lands in your own OneLake, and there is no session quantity to meter. You can see your session usage any time on the Account Settings page.

Billing Cycle

Choose between Monthly billing (the default; cancel or change anytime) and Annual billing (2 months cheaper: pay for 10 months, get 12). The annual discount is the only discount there is; the price never changes with quantity.

If you already have an active subscription, switching the billing cycle will show a proration preview before applying the change.

Billing Provider

BI Pixie supports two billing providers:

• Credit card (Stripe). Pay directly with a credit card. This is the default option.
• Microsoft Marketplace. Bill the subscription to your Azure account. Requires purchasing BI Pixie through the Azure Marketplace first. Your existing Azure billing and invoicing applies.

Switching Billing Providers

If you have an active subscription, a link appears below the action button to switch billing providers (e.g., "Switch to Microsoft Marketplace billing" or "Switch to credit card billing"). Clicking this initiates the switch process. The transition happens at the end of your current billing period to avoid service interruption.

Checkout Flow

Checkout is simple: pick a plan, pick a billing cycle, subscribe. There are no quantities to configure, no session settings, and no calculator. The price on the card is the price you pay. The rest of the experience depends on your billing provider.

Stripe (Credit Card)

1. Select Standard or Pro and choose Monthly or Annual billing.
2. Click Subscribe.
3. A popup window opens with the Stripe checkout form. Enter your payment details there.
4. After successful payment, the popup closes and you are returned to the portal with a success banner confirming your new plan.

If you close the checkout popup before completing payment, a message confirms that checkout was cancelled and no changes were made.

Microsoft Marketplace

1. Select "Microsoft Marketplace" as your billing provider.
2. Click Subscribe via Microsoft Marketplace. You will be redirected to the Azure Marketplace to complete the purchase.
3. After completing the purchase in the Azure Portal, you are redirected back to BI Pixie to confirm the activation.

For Marketplace subscriptions, the Plans page includes a link to manage the subscription in the Azure Portal.

Changing Your Plan

Plan changes happen at plan granularity: you move between the Standard, Pro, and Enterprise plans. There are no quantities to adjust, because each plan's tracked items and fair-use allowance are fixed. The experience differs slightly between Stripe and Marketplace billing.

Upgrading

1. Select the higher plan card.
2. Click Review & confirm.
3. A proration preview dialog shows the credits for your remaining time on the old plan and charges for the new plan. Review the line items and total.
4. Click Confirm to apply the upgrade. Upgrades take effect immediately, so you get instant access to the higher plan's features and limits.

For Marketplace subscriptions, the plan change is submitted to Microsoft for confirmation. The portal polls for the update, which typically takes 5 to 30 seconds. You will receive a confirmation email from Microsoft when the change takes effect.

Downgrading

Downgrades work the same way: select the lower plan card and confirm. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle, so you keep your current plan's features and limits until then. Switching Billing Cycle

Toggle between Monthly and Annual in the price panel. If you have an active Stripe subscription, the change is applied via the proration preview flow. The price panel immediately reflects the new billing cycle so you can compare before confirming.

For Marketplace subscriptions, billing cycle changes must be made in the Azure Portal. The billing cycle toggle is hidden when your subscription is billed through Microsoft Marketplace.

Cancellation and Renewal

Cancelling Your Subscription

When you cancel your subscription, it does not end immediately. Instead:

• Your plan continues until the end of your current billing period.
• A warning shows the date your plan will end. After that, your Pixies will stop tracking and you will lose access to report management.

Keeping Your Plan (Reversing a Cancellation)

If you change your mind after cancelling, you can reverse it before the billing period ends:

1. Click Keep this plan on the plan card, or click Keep my plan in the action button area.
2. A confirmation dialog shows your plan and billing cycle and the amount you will be charged on your next billing date.
3. Click Confirm & keep plan. No additional charges apply today. Your existing payment method is used at the next billing cycle.

Expired Plans

After your billing period ends following a cancellation, your plan expires. You can click Renew to restart your previous subscription, or select a different plan.

Enterprise Plans

The Enterprise plan is for organizations running BI Pixie across a large estate. Pricing starts from $30,000/yr, is always annual, and is agreed up front: one flat price, sized to your deployment, with no usage meters and no overage charges. The starting price includes 500 tracked items and unlimited report viewers. Unlimited tracked items, licensing for additional business units, data sovereignty, and self-hosted deployment are available as part of your quote, and each is priced on top of the starting price. Self-hosted deployment is scoped and quoted separately.

The Enterprise plan is sold by invoice or Azure Marketplace private offer; there is no self-serve checkout. Every Enterprise contract includes onboarding in the first year and a named contact.
